HOW YOU CAN HELP

  • The girls are teenagers, and they love to celebrate holidays with fun and food treats, such as Easter Egg Hunts, cookouts during the summer, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. They also have birthdays that you can help celebrate.
  • When a girl has her baby and is ready to move into her own apartment, you can help with furnishings!
  • How about a baby shower?
  • Donations of canned goods and paper products, and other staples to maintain the home.
  • Educational tutors.
  • Public speaking opportunities to help groups learn about the HOME.
  • Hold a fund-raising and awareness-building event for HOME.
  • Make a financial donation!

HOW THE FAITH COMMUNITY CAN HELP

  • Address the need teens have for spiritual fulfillment and help them find answers to the many challenging problems they face.
  • Encourage parents to talk with their children about sex and morality within the context of your faith tradition.
  • Enlist adults in your faith community to help young people.
  • Make sure the children and teenagers in your faith community understand what your faith tradition says about sex, love, and marriage in general and teen pregnancy, in particular. Use clear and unambiguous language.
  • Learn about contemporary youth culture - what your young people are reading, listening to, watching, and doing.
  • Organized supervised group activities for teenagers in your faith community.
  • Reach out to teenagers who are not involved in any faith community.
  • Celebrate achievement and excellence.
  • Reach out to other faith communities, neighborhood organizations, and institutions that work with young people.
  • Do a fundraiser for the HOME.
  • Invite the director to show the HOME DVD (4minutes) to your church or organization.
  • Arrange to do the Baby Bottle Fundraiser.
